Young gun Morgan makes team of the week

-

St Mirren midfielder Lewis Morgan has been named in the SPFL team of the week following his performance against Hibernian on Saturday.

Morgan was among the standouts at Easter Road as he and his teammates secured his side’s safety with a draw in the capital.

It brings the curtain down on a successful season in the black and white stripes for the young winger, who cemented himself a first team spot following an injury- ravaged campaign last time out.

His performances for the Paisley side even caught the eye of Scotland under-21 manager Scot Gemmill, who handed the man his debut in a friendly with Estonia. Morgan responded by producing a man of the match performance for the national side alongside teammate Stevie Mallan.

He is joined in the team of the week by former Saints midfielder Paul McGowan, who is battling it out at the bottom of the Premiership with Dundee.

Raith striker Declan McManus has also been included alongside Aberdeen forward Adam Rooney.

Team of the week: Alex Mitchell (Annan Athletic), Kerr Waddell ( Clyde), Marcus Fraser ( Ross County), Gary Warren (Inverness CT), Patrick Roberts ( Celtic), Paul McGowan ( Dundee), Jordon Brown ( Peterhead), Lewis Morgan (St Mirren), Adam Rooney ( Aberdeen), Declan McManus (Raith Rovers), Andy Ryan (Airdrie).
