Owen fund at £11,200

-

More than £11,000 has now been raised in memory of tragic teenager Owen MacDonald.

School pals initially hoped to raise £10,000, but last night his JustGiving page total was sitting at £11,247.

Owe n ’ s body was discovered on a grassy area near Park Mains High School, Erskine, on Sunday, April 30, and heartbroken pals kickstarted the fundraiser.

Police investigating the death of Owen, from Erskine, have revealed there are no suspicious circumstances.

On Thursday, Owen’s loved ones said farewell to him during a procession of fast cars ahead of his funeral at Woodside Crematorium, in Paisley.

The cars, including Porches, Pontiacs and Maseratis, gathered in his home town in tribute and were part of the funeral cortege.

The dream machines f o r med a gleaming procession in honour of young Owen, who was a gaming enthusiast and loved playing Grand Theft Auto.

He particularly loved the Bumblebee Chevy from the Transformers movies.

His family had asked owners of American muscle cars, sports cars and “Fast and Furious” machines to be part of his funeral cortege.

The massive cortege was formed at Barrhill Road in the town and snaked its way behind the hearse as it made its way to the crematorium.
