Learn all about new jobs

-

Anyone looking for work is invited to attend an information day to find out more about 150 new jobs being created in Paisley.

Charities Royal Blind and Scottish War Blinded will be holding a drop-in day on Saturday, June 3, in Paisley Town Hall between 11am and 6pm.

The day will provide information on the jobs being created at the two new services being constructed for blind people on Hawkhead Road, Paisley.

The 150 jobs will be shared between Royal Blind’s care home for visually impaired older people, Jenny’s Well, and the Scottish War Blinded Hawkhead Centre – an activity hub for veterans with sight loss.

Staff from Royal Blind and Scottish War Blinded will be on hand to provide further information about the roles that the charities will have available and to answer any questions. Information will also be available for people wishing to use the services and their family members.

There will be a wide range of jobs being created, from nurses and care workers, to domestic staff, drivers, activity workers and administration.

Royal Blind and Scottish War Blinded recently gained the Investors in People award and all salaries start at the Living Wage.

The new services being constructed replicate the charity’s services in the East of Scotland.

Jenny’s Well will be the second care specialist care home in Scotland for visually impaired older people, with Royal Blind’s Braeside House in Edinburgh being the first.
