It’s good to talk at lunch
Business bosses are hosting a networking lunch with a top 2021 Bid leader.
Renfrewshire Chamber has lined up Scott Taylor, chief executive of Advance City Marketing, board member of Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce and bid advisor for Paisley 2021 UK City of Culture.
Scott was chief executive of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau until last year, having been closely involved in bids such as the 2014 Commonwealth Games, 2015 Turner Prize and UEFA’s Euro 2020, as well as the transformation of Glasgow’s international convention business and leading the City’s brand: People Make Glasgow.
Since May last year, he has been part of the core bid team tasked with winning the 2021 UK City of Culture bid against stiff competition from 10 UK towns and cities.
With the potential of creating 4,700 jobs and boost the economy by £172m, Scott will reveal all about this transformational opportunity.
The event takes place 12pm to 2pm on May 31 at the Lynnhurst Hotel, Park Road, Johnstone.
Paisley’s bid for UK City of Culture has been submitted to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
Judges will announce the shortlist for the next stage of the process in June.
Tickets for the Renfrewshire Chamber event are priced from £25.
