Gala day has fun for all the family
Make a date in your diary for Renfrew Gala Day.
Promised on Sunday, June 4, is live entertainment from Pulse FM, music, dance, a selection of stalls, funfair rides, free activities for children and a dress-up parade.
Organisers say the theme of this year’s parade is ‘Under the Sea’.
It will leave from Robertson Park, Craigielea Road, at 1pm, and make its way to Renfrew Leisure Centre for 1.20pm to kick-start the gala.
Taking part in the parade will be Arkleston Baby and Toddler Group, Kirklandneuk Community Centre, Guides, Brownies, Renfrew High Home Link, Jazzle Dazzle and Karen E Moir School of Dance.
Also on offer is a petting zoo and free children’s face painting and inflatable fun.
Renfrew Football Club and Paisley Rugby Club will host ‘come and try’ sessions.
You can try Caravan Obscura’s boxes that will turn your world upside down, and experience an extraordinary light installation in their caravan-with-a-difference.
And add to that hot and cold food stands and a tea room hosted by St Margaret’s Church.
The gala day will take place during a week- long celebration in the town.
A family ceilidh and Renfrew Youth Citizen of the Year Awards will take place on Friday, June 1, from 7pm in Renfrew Town Hall.
Tickets are free and are available to reserve from Eventbrite or in person at Renfrew Town Hall.
A Bonnie Baby and Toddlers competition will also take place on Wednesday, May 31 from noon, organised by and held in The Cherrie Centre.
