We’ve teamed up with the experts at Gleddoch Hotel and Spa to offer you some top beauty tips.

 Put tape at the side of your eye to do your eye make-up and keep it symmetrical and stylish.

Sick of forever having to redraw eyeliner flicks over and over again because they’re not straight? Or wanting a crisp finish under your gorgeous smoky eye? Try a small piece of tape instead of a tissue to keep your hands free and lines on point.

 Always use a cleanser and then water on your face before finishing with a moisturiser.

If you’re in the habit of refreshing yourself by applying water to your face, as a lot of us do, make sure you use a cleanser first and moisturizer after to maintain the Ph balance of your skin. Keeping the Ph balance just right has natural anti-aging effects. The Elemis cleansers and moisturisers are our personal favourites.

 Heat from the sauna or steam room will benefit any muscular tension.

Spending 10 minutes in a sauna or steam room will help blood flow round the body and muscular tension ease away. Remember not to spend longer than 10 minutes though and drink lots of water to re-hydrate afterwards.

 Dip nails in cold water to dry nail varnish quicker.

Is time too precious in your hectic week to wait for your nails to air dry? Have a bowl of cold water to hand before you start and dip your nails in the bowl as you finish each nail, or enjoy that bracing feeling once you’ve finished each hand, to save some time waving your nails dry.

 Try neck and shoulder rolls to relieve tension.

Are you noticing stress building up over the course of your week, or even each day?

Try some shoulder roles when your feel that tension rising. Just 10 rolls forward and 10 rolls back should keep that tension at bay.

Once you’ve got the hang of it, try focusing on keeping your breathing deep and relaxed to get that extra benefit. You’ll feel the difference in no time.

 Curl your toes to relax and release some inner tension.

If you’re going to be taking any long flights or journeys, this tip is especially for you.

It can even be done sitting at your desk.

Try slipping off your shoes and flattening your feet into the floor pushing your knees over your toes, then relax and curl your toes up. This will keep your blood flowing and you’ll have a spring in your step on your travels and throughout the day.

 Tie your hair up more often to maintain your natural protective coating.

Don’t stress about spending extra time each day washing and drying your hair — let it keep its natural protective coating and it won’t dry out as much.

You can also experiment with conditioning your hair before shampooing it to keep that protective coating up without the drying effect of the shampoo afterwards.

Bonus tip — hair tied up too tight causes extra strain on your hair follicles, so a loose bun works best.

 Bicarbonate soda, used before toothpaste, will help whiten teeth.
