Head of basketball at basketballscotland, Barry Lang, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for all of the Scottish athletes to train and prepare with fellow talented players from across Great Britain.

“We wish all of the nominated players the best of luck and encourage every player to make the most of this exciting opportunity to represent Great Britain in a youth national squad for the first time.”

The Paisley three will be joined by a number of other Scottish players, as well as those from England and Wales.

There is also call-ups for City of Edinburgh’s Ryan Armour and Alexander Ferguson, who Low joins in the under-18 men’s side.

Feeney is joined by Lewis McGlasson in the under-16 men’s side, while Collins has a number of familiar faces in the under-16 women’s side.

British Basketball chief executive, Lisa Wainwright, added: “This is such an exciting announcement to make. For the first time, the under- 16 and under- 18 teams wi l l be competing in European Championships under a GB banner and flying the Union flag.

“The home count r i e s have done their own talent identification processes and have nominated a wonderful bunch of young athletes to take part in the initial training camps. Good luck to everyone over the next few months.”
