Paisley firm in top 1,000 companies CGC builds on success with stock exchange accolade
A Paisley construction firm has been named as one of Britain’s top 1,000 companies.
CGC was listed among the top UK firms described by the London Stock Exchange as the most “inspiring, dynamic and fastestgrowing companies”.
The accolade came in the stock exchange’s newly-published “1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain” listing.
Bosses at CGC say they are delighted by the news, and say the endorsement is proof of the rapid expansion CGC has enjoyed as it wins new work and expands into England.
Managing director Leo Reilly said: “This is great news for CGC.
“We are delighted to be included in this important listing by the London Stock Exchange Group.
“It is a ringing endorsement of the high quality work CGC provides for our clients, and our commitment to the local economy here in Renfrewshire.
“We are very proud of our association with Paisley and it’s great that a local firm is recognised in this way.”
The stock exchange announcement said it drew up the list to “highlight the importance of fast-growing businesses to the future of the UK economy.”
It added: “We believe these companies have enormous potential for innovation, growth and job creation.”
Writing in the foreword to the list, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon MSP, added: “The Scottish firms featured are excellent examples of how innovative businesses are across the full breadth of sectors and across the country.”
CGC employs 126 people and carries out a wide range of construction- related work for a variety of clients including Renfrewshire Council and South Ayrshire Council.
In March, CGC – which has its head office in MacDowall Street, Paisley – was named as Renfrewshire’s Employer of the Year in the Provost’s Community Awards.
