Walkers do a grand job for vital charity
Three women who work for mental health charity RAMH have raised more cash to bolster services.
Andrea O’ B r i e n , Amanda McLaughlin and Fiona McCrae collected £1,177 between them by tackling The Royal Bank of Scotland Kiltwalk.
The trio, who are from Renfrewshire, walked the 26- mile route of the Glasgow Kiltwalk from Hampden to Balloch.
Andrea said: “It was a terrific experience — hard going at times, but really worthwhile.
“I have never walked a marathon distance before and we had a real sense of achievement crossing the finishing line.”
“We all work for RAMH and chose to support them because we see every single day the difference that the organisation makes to local people.
“Mental health recovery is possible for so many people, and at RAMH we empower people to lead their own recovery journey.
“We see so many people transforming their lives. It’s inspiring.”
RAMH, which has its headquarters in Bl a c k s t o u n R o a d , promotes recov e r y from mental ill health and supports a range of diagnoses including depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder.
Chief executive Stephen McLellan added: “We’re really proud of Andrea, Amanda and Fiona for their achievement and are extremely grateful for the crucial funding they’ve raised.
“It’s an extraordinary amount and will make a real difference to our services.”
