Work with social media

-

Paisley First has been working with local firms to demonstrate how the power of social media can boost business.

Social networks have evolved to become a powerful communication tool in the digital age.

Gradually, more and more businesses are becoming aware of the importance of social networks but some small and medium sized businesses still have doubts about how useful they are.

So Paisley First organised four training sessions for BID members, focusing on a social media overview and Facebook for business.

Gary Ennis, of NSDesign, led the courses over two days, showing how social media marketing can help increase brand engagement and ultimately help businesses attract new customers.

The courses have proven so popular that Paisley First is looking to run more later in the year.

Paisley First BID manager Andrew Mitchell said:“It’s really important that businesses understand just how effective social media can be for their business, no matter what type of products or services they provide.

“The free courses we organised for businesses in the town centre were very well received by all participants.

“Those who took part in the training all felt afterwards that they now had a better understanding of the importance of social media in marketing their businesses as well as feeling more confident about how to use social media effectively.”

Margaret McCann, manager at Kennedy’s Bar, said the course was fabulous.

She added:“The training was fantastic, especially Facebook for business. It really opened my eyes to what you can do to promote your business.”

The Paisley First team is now looking to run further social media training courses later this year.
