PUPILS TAKE A BOW Gleniffer kids celebrate merit awards
Pupils at Gleniffer High School have been rewarded for all their great efforts this year.
The Paisley high school held its 26th annual Certificate of Merit award ceremony for first, second and third year pupils this week.
Students across the three year groups were commended for attainment, effort, service to the school, extra curricular activities and Gold Award achievements.
The ceremony was a fun- filled occasion as parents and families enjoyed several musical performance between the awards being handed out – all of which went off without a hitch.
There was a real sense of pride in the hall, as families watched their loved collect their awards.
Head teacher David Nicholls, who is retiring at the end of the session, said: “Tonight has been a celebration of everything that is good about Gleniffer High School, from outstanding academic achievement through to the many examples of talent and good citizenship.
“This year’s junior school has been ably supported by the depute heads Evelyn Feggans and Helen McMunn. They, alongside our very committed staff, have worked hard to ensure that the pupils in their care have every opportunity to succeed in school and beyond.
“The evening was also a very emotional one for me as this was my final Certificate of Merit ceremony as I edge ever closer to my final days in the school.
“This has been a truly inspiring evening, and is one of the many treasured memories that I will take with me as I leave the school.”
