Breastfeeding group celebrates
A breastfeeding group has celebrated its first birthday.
Members of the Breastfeeding Network held a party to mark one year since the creation of the charity.
The fun event was well attended by around 16 of the 30 local families who have been attending the weekly meeting at Woodlands Primary School on Thursday mornings.
The event came in the run up to National Breastfeeding Celebration Week, which started yesterday.
Breastfeeding Week runs with the theme of changing the myths around breastfeeding culture.
The Breastfeeding Network is well established in Renfrewshire, with groups also meeting in West Johnstone Learning Centre on Tuesdays and the Tannahill Centre on Fridays.
Trained volunteers, who are also local mums who have breastfed, are on hand to provide information and support for parents at any stage and helping families to reach their own breastfeeding goals.
The network’s next local event is a Teddy Bears Picnic, to be held in the grounds of Woodlands Primary School on Thursday, August 3, from 11.30am to 1pm.
