Telly ‘tec David is up for top award

Pais­ley’s David Ten­nant has been long-listed in the best ac­tor cat­e­gory of the 2017 TV Choice Awards for his per­for­mance as Alec Hardy in TV crime drama Broad­church.

Vot­ing is now open in the first stage of the awards, which are de­cided by viewers them­selves.

Richard Os­man, best known as the bof­fin on TV quiz show Point­less, will be host­ing the 21st an­nual awards.

They will come from the Dorch­ester Hot e l in Lon­don on Mon­day, Septem­ber 4.

For­mer Pais­ley Gram­mar School pupil David starred as the de­tec­tive in the hugely pop­u­lar se­ries.

The pro­gramme it­self has been nom­i­nated for Best Drama Se­ries.

D a v i d ’s co-stars Olivia Col­man and Julie Hes­mond­halgh are both on the Best Ac­tress longlist for the roles of El­lie Miller and Trish Win­ter­man.
