Caring for veterans

Buddies can show support for veterans charity Walking With The Wounded by shopping at Morrisons supermarkets.

Until Sunday, June 25, staff at the store’s branches with a Pie Shop will be baking British Chunky Steak Pies, where a donation of 25p per pie will go to the charity.

The pies will cost £1 each, or £1.90 for two.

Morrisons stores with a café will also be offering a free hot drink for serving military personnel and veterans.

To claim their free hot drink, serving military personnel and veterans simply need to present their Defence Privilege Card at the cafe.

A Morrisons spokesman said: “We’re proud to support Armed Forces Day on June 24 and to thank serving military personnel and veterans for all that they have done.

“We hope that the money raised will help Walking With The Wounded to provide vulnerable veterans’ independence through employment.”
