Cammy: Squad is shaping up nicely

Paisley Daily Express - - A Warm Welcome On A Cold Evening -

St Mirren midfielder Cammy Smith admits he was delighted to see the majority of his teammates sign up for next season.

Smith agreed a permanent deal from Aberdeen over the course of the summer, and having seen a number of players agree new deals or switches to Paisley, he reckons that the squad is shaping up nicely for the year ahead.

Smith said:“Gavin Reilly from Hearts should be a good addition and Jordan Kirkpatrick from Alloa, along with a few others, are great players to bring in.

“But keeping the likes of Gary MacKenzie, Lewis Morgan and Adam Eckersley is very exciting.

“The bulk of the squad re-signing means we really have the nucleus of the squad that was here last season so we have big ambitions.”

The team rallied at the end of last season, with a strong bond between the players helping them avoid relegation.
