Put your best foot forward at the Rainbow Ramble

-

A multi-coloured charity event is coming back to Paisley.

The Accord Hospice Rainbow Ramble 3K will see hundreds of supporters taking part in the annual event, this time at the town’s Ferguslie Gardens on Sunday, August 20.

And they will be running, walking or hopping the route – and getting covered in all sorts of colours of powder paint for their efforts.

An Accord spokesman said: “Participants will start the event at 2pm in a pristine white T-shirt, which will gradually take on the colours of the rainbow as they are showered in a kaleidoscope of powdered paints as they pass each colour station.

“With a DJ and Zumba i n s t ructor warming up participants to get the blood pumping, everyone will be ready to go for the family fun run.”

Accord is assuring potential participants that the paints are non- toxic, environmentally friendly and easily washed off.

The ramble will involve four loops round the west end park – a distance of approximately 3K.

Registration costs £ 10 – children are free with a registered adult – and this includes sponsorship forms, T-shirt, and sunglasses.

Accord is suggesting people achieve a minimum sponsorship of £50 per person, although the hospice is extremely grateful for any amount raised.

The event last year had over 150 participants who raised a stunning £ 10,000 thanks to sponsorship.

The event has had to move location this year due to the maintenance work taking place at Barshaw Park over the summer.
