Credit union is set to lend a helping hand
Johnstone Credit Union is lending a helping hand to community groups.
The low-cost saving and borrowing agency has announced plans to put a spring in the step of four lucky local groups this year by launching a weighty grant give away.
Four awards of £250 will be made to successful applicants who meet the criteria and can help publicise the work of the Credit Union.
The board of directors is seeking applications from constituted voluntary organisations working within Johnstone Credit Union’s common bond area which covers the whole of Renfrewshire.
Successful applicants over the last few years include Johnstone Adopt a Station, a local guides group, a kids club and the Talk it Over group.
A spokesperson for JCU encouraged voluntary organisations to apply.
He said: “We are a largely volunteer-based organisation which fully understands the important work that similar organisations do in the heart of the wider community.
“We like to give something back to the area whenever possible, and feel the best way to do this is to hear about the good work of other groups and support them in whatever way possible.
“We hope to attract a high uptake and look forward to seeing the feedback we get.”
Application forms are available by contacting the office at 26 Church Street or by calling 01505 327 148.
The closing date for applications is August 31, 2017.
