-

Thousands of people are expected to turn out for the annual Barshaw Gala Day in Paisley.

Families, children, teenagers – the whole community – can look forward to an afternoon packed full of exciting activities for all the family.

The gala day takes place on Saturday from noon to 4pm.

A live stage, hosted by Erskine Music and Media Studio, will provide the soundtrack to the day and entertain the crowds as they take in the fantastic local music and dance groups.

A multitude of community and craft stalls will give everyone the chance to see the fantastic artists, designers, charities, volunteers and groups that the area has to offer.

There will be plenty for children, including balloon modellers, magic shows, inflatables and free face painting.

There will also be a variety of children’s workshops including Up in the Air kite-making, hula-hooping and special preview Sma’ Shot Day workshops where children can design and make a prop that they can bring along to be a part of the Sma’ Shot parade on Saturday, July 1.

Provost Lorraine Cameron said:“Gala days are at the heart of our communities and I can’t wait to get along and be a part of it on Saturday.

“There’s a fantastic array of activities on offer so gather up the kids, your friends and your family and come along to join the thousands set to turn out for a brilliant day.”
