Parking problems will go to the vote
Roads bosses are voting today on whether to bring in restrictions to curb problem parking.
Renfrewshire Council is debating whether to usher in tighter controls to stop motors being left at kerbs and at junctions.
Tor y members are bringing forward a motion to the local authority aimed at hammering drivers.
He hit out after families complained they are being forced to push wheelchairs and buggies onto the road to get by cars.
Councillor MacLaren represents Bishopton, Bridge of Weir and Langbank, and says rules should be changed for areas notching up five violations in six months.
Traffic Regulation Orders give the council control over waiting and loading areas, changing speed limits and closing roads.
Streets can be made one-way and carriageways and footpaths can be shut permanently.
A decision will be made on the motion at the full council meeting from 9.30am.
