Loy’s not the boy for Saints
St Mirren look to have missed out on signing Rory Loy after the frontman returned to pre-season training at Dundee.
Loy spent the second half of the season on loan at the Saints, bagging seven goals in 17 appearances to help them retain their Championship status.
He was heavily linked with making the move to Paisley permanent this summer after talks with the club, but it appears Dundee boss Neil McCann is set to give the 29-year-old a chance to prove himself.
McCann said:“Rory is back with the group.
“He’s gone out on loan last season for whatever reason, but I’m more than happy for him to come in here and work.
“It’s a clean slate for everybody and he’ll get his chance to show what he can do, just like everyone else.”
The hitman, who had also been recently linked with Dunfermline began his career at Rangers, and enjoyed spells with Carlisle United and Falkirk.
