Take time to see the best tribute bands in town

A couple of top tribute bands take the stage at The Bungalow this weekend.

If you are a Stone Roses fan you should head to The Bungalow tonight to see Resurrecti­on. You will not be disappoint­ed, they are one of the best tribute acts in the country right now.

Resurrecti­on were formed in 1998 and are based in Glasgow.

They are known to be the most successful, and first, tribute to The Stone Roses north of the border.

Their success has made them not only the best Stone Roses tribute around, but one of Scotland’s mostseen bands.

Doors are at 8pm and tickets are priced £7.

The Absolute Jam are back at The Bungalow tomorrow night to play some of the best iconic songs ever to hit the charts.

The band gives you A Town called Malice, Going Undergroun­d, Eton Rifles and many more.

You will struggle to find a more authentic Jam tribute than this band.

Tickets are only £4 at the door. Things kick off at 8pm.

At Canal Station bar tonight at 7pm is Riley, who is an 18-year-old singer/songwriter from Glasgow.

She has been gigging around Scotland and performed in both Toronto and New York City.

Her music has been compared to Joni Mitchell and Taylor Swift as it has a country/folk sound.

And if you are up for a bit of jazz this weekend then the jazz session is on Sunday at 2pm.

On Sunday The Anchor have Destinatio­n Anywhere performing, from 4pm, and on Monday it is Jen McLachlan who will be your host at The Monday Club, from 4pm.

Tomorrow night The Cherry Reds will be at The Bar and Grill from 9pm.

At the Old Swan on Friday, at 8pm, Overdrive play then Saturday, at 4pm, it’s The Sly Dogs and on Monday there is Johnny McCaulay and Alan McKim, playing from 3.30pm, and on Wednesday the live sessions start at 6pm.

Upshot are at Scruffy Murphy’s from 9.30pm tomorrow night.

Graeme Kerr will be at Burger and Keg tonight at 9.30pm and tomorrow night, at Saporito Wine Bar from 10pm, it is Johnny Barr.

The Cave have Sad Ida on tonight at 8pm and tomorrow, at 6pm ,it is Blacklist followed by Black Triangles at 9pm. Sunday at 6pm it is The Willie ‘Jukebox Mathews’ Big Jam Session.

Open mic nights next week are Sunday at The Bungalow from 8pm with Cat Caldwell, Monday 8pm at The Abbey Bar hosted by Dunky Hunter, Andy Lindsey is at The Anchor on Tuesday from 8pm, Tuesday is also Jam Night at Hamishes’ Hoose from 9pm, on Wednesday Johnny Barr is the host for Burger and Keg at 8pm, Andy Lindsay is at The Patter Bar, and Ashley is at The Tea Gardens – all from 8pm.

The Library open mic is on Thursday, from 8pm, as is The Afton with Alan McKim.
