It’s a new chapter for kids as they graduate from nursery

- Lynn Jolly

Proud youngsters at Glencoats Lodge Nursery have graduated — complete with mortar boards.

This was the first graduation ceremony — merged with a fun day — since Collin Care took over the running of the facility in Ferguslie Park.

Manager Jessica Collin, deputy manager Shannon Porter and their team had fun helping the children and their families celebrate.

Jessica said: “A total of 14 children graduated. We had a big graduation celebration where the children performed their favourite songs and they made their own T-shirts with their own personal drawings on them.

“We also gave the children a present with some treats and a book with their certificate to say well done.

“We then went on to having a big open day with all nursery parents, friends, families and people from the community.

“I would like to thank local businesses who gave donations for the tombola.

“These include Graeme’s Butchers, KFC, Cafe Caprice, Uptown Barbers, Pandamonium, Nando’s, Ryze trampoline park, Mecca bingo, Gaynor’s hair salon, The Big Adventure soft play, Jist Misto restaurant, The Glynhill Hotel, Ross’s Original Bar, Castelvecchi and Tinto Tapas.”

Children — and adults — enjoyed a bouncy castle, face painting and treats from the cake stand.

The graduates are: Robert Seggie, five: Mia McGill, five; Ellie Purdon, four; Ross Sinclair, four; Dennis Artimon, five; Joseph Will, four: Zachary McDaid, four; Millie-May Hughes, four; Shae Gibson, four; Caoimhe O’Donnell, four; Phillip Gustak, four; Harrison Hayward, four; Tobi Mosuro, four, and four-year-old Lexii Syme.
