Trophy time for BB Battalion’s finest
Proud boys are congratulated on their achievements
Proud parents packed Oakshaw Trinity Church for a Boys’ Brigade awards presentation.
The Paisley and District Battalion of the BB nominated former MSP Kirsten Oswald as its honorary vice-president, and she presented 50 BB members with either their President Badge Certificate or Duke of Edinburgh bronze and silver certificates.
Ms Oswald said: “Thank you to the Brigade for inviting me to be an Honorary vice-president and I welcome the opportunity to congratulate the boys on their achievements.
“They are a credit to the communities from which they come.
“I also acknowledge the support and encouragement of the parents and officers which has enabled them to succeed in their efforts.
“I wish the young men every success in going for their Queen’s Badge and the next stage of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.”
Battalion president Bill Keddie thanked Ms Oswald for her encouraging remarks and also intu Braehead and Glasgow Airport for their continued support for the Battalion championship competitions.
He also congratulated the winners and recognised the support given by officers and parents.
Craig Martin presented the 1st/3rd Renfrew Company with the junior section battalion trophy on behalf of sponsors Glasgow International Airport, and Garry Turnbull presented the 1st Houston Company with company section battalion trophy, sponsored by intu Braehead

Duke of Edinburgh Silver awards went to 1st Erskine Ewan Colquhoun, Dylan Connelly, Scott Donaldson, Peter Duncan, Lee Rush; 1st Houston Cameron Baird, Peter Dickson, Ewan Harvey, Ross McHarg, Jonathan Paris, Ben Telfer and Christopher Willbond.
