Jonny’s lasting legacy

- Life can be cruel, as many of us know.

That was brought home to me when I read about the untimely death of young Jonny Foreman.

He was clearly a very outgoing person with lots of friends. To pass in the circumstances in which he did is utterly tragic and my heart goes out to all of his friends and family and those whose lives he touched.

We spend much of our lives worrying about the future. What might happen to our jobs? Will we have enough money to cover our bills? What is happening in the world?

But really what matters are the relationships we make.

Jonny’s life should remind us that what matters most is the time we spend with the ones we love.

I will be trying my best to follow Jonny’s example by living life to the full.

It was upsetting to read about cruel conmen stealing money from vulnerable older people.

It’s hard to believe there are such nasty people out there who would be able to look a person in the face, pretend to be helping them and then steal their money.

It’s even harder to believe they have deliberately targeted older people who are vulnerable.

I would say to anyone who does this that karma will come and get you eventually.

I completely understand the anger from the families and wish the police every success in catching these guys.

Let’s hope by putting these crimes on the front page it will make people more wary of who comes to their door and they won’t be able to con any more people. Elizabeth Lang Paisley
