Bungalow’s Band Aid will get venue back on track

- All day Mod festival to raise funds after break-in

The best dressed bands in town are queuing up to support the crisis-rocked Bungalow bar. The venue hosts its massive Mod Club festival tomorrow, with all profits paying to repair damage after a break-in. Sharp suits aren’t compulsory, but they’ll certainly help music fans fit in. Rockabilly heroes Cherry Red 53 are among the bands helping raise cash. Promoters Ruthless Artistes say all eight groups and five DJs immediately agreed to do what they could.

A spokesman said: “Due to the recent break-in and vandalisation of the venue, all profit from ticket sales and door money will be given to the venue to aid in its recovery.

“We at Ruthless Artistes have developed a fantastic working relationship with the Bungalow team.

“Therefore, it’s only fitting that we chip in.

“Come along and support the venue and help get it back on its feet.

“Don’t let the crooks win. Please tell your friends.”

Cherry Red 53 have built up a strong reputation with their throwback sound.

They have gigged across the country, with their raucous rock n’ roll sound and greased up pompadours winning legions of fans.

They will be joined by The Sectors, The Bandits and Mod Life Crisis on a huge bill, also featuring Sie Leslie, Acoustic Beatles and Strung Out Nights.

Tonight, the Bungalow plays hosts to an evening put together by some of the country’s best DJs.

Dance commanders will take over the decks, playing hits from across the decades.

Entry is free, but donation buckets will be dotted around the room, with music fans encouraged to do what they can.
