Don’t miss the bus for summer service

-

A Renfrewshire bus company is bringing a breath of fresh air to travellers by allocating their newly refurbished open-top tour bus to local services.

Isabelle Murray, head of marketing at McGill’s, said:“The open topper is being used on local bus services on sunny days to bring a little bit of sunshine into our customers travels, and to help promote our ‘Make the Most of Summer with McGill’s campaign.

“People of all ages – especially kids – love sitting on the top of a double decker, but when that is open topped and the sun’s shinning, it’s even better.

“The open topper has already been used on service 17, which runs between Paisley and Glasgow, and the response from our customers has been fantastic.

“Not only have they enjoyed the experience of taking in the sun and the sights, they’ve also enjoyed the relaxing music and free goody bags we’ve been handing out on trips.”

The vehicle was recently refurbished by Bus World, in Lancashire, and features piped leather seats, brush steel grab-rails and a clear canopy to protect the front rows of upstairs seats from the elements on those not so sunny days.

The 17 service travels from Renfrewshire into Paisley, and then along Glasgow’s Paisley Road West, onto the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, through the Clyde Tunnel in Glasgow’s west end, terminating in the city centre.
