Thugs attack and rob teen of cash

Victim, 19, received facial injuries in the mugging

Detectives are hunting two teenage muggers who attacked and robbed a man in Paisley.

The 19- year- old victim was attacked in the Gallowhill area by two young men who accosted him before making off with the victim’s wallet.

The incident took place at around 12.30am on Montgomery Road and the attackers are believed to have run off in the direction of Renfrew Road.

The victim, who suffered facial injuries, did not require hospital treatment.

The men are described as 16 to 17 years old with dark hair – one was wearing a dark hooded top and jeans and the other a light coloured tracksuit.

Detective Constable Jacqueline Feeney, from Paisley CID, called for those with informatio­n to contact the police.

She urged: “An innocent man has been subjected to a violent attack by two despicable individual­s and it is absolutely vital that we trace them as soon as possible.

“Officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries, including examining CCTV and speaking to local residents.

“We are asking anyone who was in the area in the early hours of Friday morning, who may have seen two men matching the descriptio­ns, or anything suspicious at all, to please get in touch.”
