A Paisley man has gone on trial accused of three counts of rape and seven sexual assaults.

Paul Colquhoun has been in the dock at the High Court in Glasgow following a catalogue of allegations involving six girls

and women, one of whom was just nine years old at the time.

It is claimed that the 49- yearold, of Wellmeadow Street, who is denying all the charges, attacked them in the 21 years between 1994 and 2015 at addresses in Paisley, Clydebank and Glasgow.

He is charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on various occasions between April 1994 and April 1995.

During the incident, it is alleged he exposed the teenager to pornographic images and assaulted her in a bath.

Colquhoun is also accused of raping another woman while she slept and failing to stop when she woke up between October 1994 and October 1996.

He faces another two charges of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl between 1996 and 1999.

The first involves kissing her inappropriately and the second relates to a more serious sexual assault.

It is further claimed that he raped an 11-year-old girl between December 1999 and December 2000 and that he sexually assaulted her twice, attempted to rape her and attempted to have unlawful sexual intercourse with her.

The final charge alleges that he tried to force himself on a woman between June and August 2015.

The trial is expected to last around three weeks and will also hear allegations that Colquhoun raped a different woman between May 26, 2006, and August 21, 2006, and indecently assaulted her between April 2004 and March 2005.
