Yob kicked off as she confronted boyfriend over cheating claims

Woman tried to boot in the door of homeless hotel

A tanked- up yob who sparked mayhem at a homeless hostel in Paisley has been warned by a sheriff to dry herself out.

Ashleigh Toner, 29, was booted out of the hostel in Dundonald Road by concierge staff on June 15, but returned to visit her boyfriend Graeme Dolan later that evening worse for wear.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard Toner repeatedly kicked and punched the door in an attempt to get in, and shouted and swore abuse, until police were called and she was arrested.

Fiscal depute Masooma Jaffri said: “The time was 7pm. She was asked to leave by concierge staff due to her level of intoxication.

“She left, but returned at 11pm and began kicking and punching the closed door in an attempt to gain entry, however, she was refused by staff.

“Witness Dolan went to an adjoining close to attempt to admit her, but she was told she wouldn’t be allowed in due to her aggressive conduct and police officers were contacted.”

The court heard Toner then vented fury at her boyfriend saying, “We are f**king done,’ and branding him a ‘s****bag’ and a ‘p***k.’

Toner was handcuffed, but taken to hospital accompanied by cops, who were concerned about her welfare.

She pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting, swearing and acting in an aggressive manner, and repeatedly striking a door.

Defence agent Amy Spencer urged the court to show her client mercy as she had recently spent time behind bars and was hoping to get her life back on track.

She said: “Her problems stem from her alcohol consumption.

“Her partner had a room in the homeless accommodation and he was under curfew conditions.

“She thought he was leaving her to go and see another woman.”

She urged the court to consider a community-based punishment for Toner, of the town’s Netherhill Road.

Sheriff James Spy told the troubled woman she was on a “path to self destruction” unless she sorts herself out.

He handed her a 12- month probation order, where she will undergo supervision and get help for her alcohol problems — adding that she will go to jail if she doesn’t toe the line.
