Youngsters burn up energy at the Lagoon

- Chris Taylor

These sports-mad youngsters made the most of time off school at summer camps.

Renfrewshire Leisure is helping keep kids busy at sports clubs across the region.

Dozens turned up for the latest summer session at Paisley’s Lagoon Leisure Centre.

Organisers promise something for everyone, with a busy schedule of activities right through the holidays.

A spokesman said: “There’s games, sports, arts and crafts, and much, much more.

“Kids will experience something new every day in a jam-packed programme at the fantastic summer activity camps.”

Every week children will be kept busy learning new skills at the fun camps hosted across Renfrewshire’s leisure facilities.

They have been enjoying football, arts, tennis, hockey and the bouncy castle at the town centre gym.

Dance sessions are also being held, with mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking and athletics training and fun races also proving popular.

The camps are hosted at the OnX, Lagoon, Renfrew, Park Mains and Johnstone Community Sports Hub and run until August 11.

Those with energy to spare can even get ready for the Paisley 10k fun run taking place on August 20.
