Kids will tell how they raised cash for other children
Pupils and teachers are to star in a telly show celebrating fundraisers doing their bit for youngsters across the country.
Newmains Primary will hit the small screen to tell all about their money-spinning efforts for the STV Children’s Appeal.
The half- hour show will go behind the scenes of their fight to help others out of poverty.
Presenter Jennifer Reoch will tell the stories of how their bake sale and Kiltwalk raised crucial funds for those who need it most.
She said: “The STV Children’s Appeal funds incredible causes and makes a real difference to young lives across Scotland and I am so delighted to be involved.
“This programme is full of amazing stories, highlighting exactly why it is so important to fundraise, and I hope it will inspire many more to take on their own fundraising challenges in aid of the STV Children’s Appeal.”
Paisley weatherman Sean Batty also features after meeting the young campaigners earlier this year.
He dropped in to the Renfrew school as part of a tour across Scotland to learn all about events staged to bring in the cash.
Viewers will also join the thousands who took part in The Kiltwalk in Aberdeen and Glasgow, the Great Women’s 10k in Glasgow, the Great Edinburgh Run, and Pedal for Scotland’s Wee Jaunt in Falkirk.
Since launching in 2011, the STV Children’s Appeal has raised more than £13.7 million, with 722 big and small grants distributed to projects across all 32 local authority areas in Scotland, providing much needed support to over 62,000 children.
The money raised is distributed to provide practical help such as food and warm clothes, create opportunities for training and employability, and enable social and emotional support for those who need it most.
STV Children’s Appeal Summer Special will air on Friday, August 4, at 8pm.
