A teenager was so out- of- control she had to be peppers p r a ye d after battering a cop.

Chloe Allan, 18, waded into a street row before attacking the policewoman when she was told to leave.

She punched PC Alison McCluskey in the face before swinging her by the hair.

The shop assistant admitted assault and resisting arrest at Paisley Sheriff Court.

Fiscal depute Maureen McGovern told how the officer dropped her radio during the rammy when her body armour was grabbed.

She said: “Police were dealing with a male and had cause to arrest him for a breach of the peace.

“Ms Allan knew the male and took exception to the fact police were arresting him. She was repeatedly asked to be quiet. Police informed her she was under arrest because of her conduct.

“At this point, she began to struggle violently with PC Alison McCluskey.

“She was pulling away to avoid arrest. During the struggle, the accused struck PC McCluskey on the right side of the face with a closed fist.

“This cause her pain and to be disorientated, allowing the accused to grab her by the hair and body armour.

“PC Mc C l u s k e y managed to break free from the grip of the accused and create a gap of two to three feet.

“The accused continued to behave aggressively towards her, moving towards her with clenched fists. Fearful of further attack, and that her colleague was unable to assist while unable to use her radio or call for back-up, PC McCluskey discharged her pava irritant spray.”

The policewoman delivered two bursts of gas to Allan’s face. The chemical used creates a burning sensation in the eyes and causes them to automatically close.

Allan had to be taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment after the drama around 3am in Beith Road, Johnstone, on January 7.

Defence lawyer David Nicholson told how the Semichem worker had never been in trouble with police before.

He said: “She’s 18, in a relationship and in fulltime employment.

“She had been under the influence of alcohol. She had been lying in a bus shelter on her partner’s knee. She accepts her behaviour was unacceptable and she is embarrassed and ashamed.”

Sheriff Tom McCartney warned Allan, of Collier Street, Johnstone, she faces jail.

She is to return to court on August 21 for sentencing.
