Free summer fun for youngsters

-

Young people looking for summer activities can have a whale of a time by dropping in to free social clubs during the holidays.

The fun sessions are being put on by Renfrewshire Council’s youth services team to help 10 to 18-year-olds make new friends, meet up with chums and have fun together.

The drop-in workshops will offer a range of activities, including arts and crafts, gaming, trips, photography, digital art and filmmaking.

And there will be a chance for the youngsters to be able to have their say on what’s important to them.

They can take part in the youth services survey as well as finding out information, such as how to get a Young Scot card, joining a Youth Voice group or the new LGBT group, volunteering in the area or working towards a Duke of Edinburgh award.

The clubs are based in Erskine, Foxbar and Ferguslie.

The Erskine drop-in takes place at Bargarran Community Centre every Wednesday, 3.30pm to 5.30pm for P6 and P7 ages, and 6pm to 8.30pm for children in S1 and above.

Kids aged 10 to 16 can head along to Foxbar Youth Learning Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at 1.30pm to 3.30pm and 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Ferguslie’s summer drop-in takes place today at the Tannahill Centre. For P6 and P7 youngsters, it’s on from 2pm to 4pm, and for 12 to 18-year-olds, it’s at 5pm to 7pm.
