BACK HOME Harry’s so happy to rejoin Saints

- Craig Ritchie

Harry Davis insists he was sold on a move back to the Buds as soon as Jack Ross got in contact.

Davis brought weeks of speculation to an end yesterday morning, with the club confirming that the centre back has returned on a one-year deal, with a year option on his contract.

The Englishman enjoyed a brief loan spell with St Mirren last season before a knee injury curtailed his progress in the first team.

But his performances over the course of nine-match spell, which included two goals, was enough to convince Buddies’ boss Ross to tie him down on a permanent deal for the upcoming season.

Davis said: “I’m delighted to be back.

“It’s been ongoing throughout the summer.

“I’ve kept in contact with a lot of people at the club and I’m delighted to get signed.

“I can’t speak highly enough about the club and everyone here to be honest with you.

“Everyone from the gaffer, Tony Fitzpatrick, the fans and the club in general.

“I’ve just got a great feeling about it and it just feels right.” “I absolutely loved it. “The gaffer and the whole club made me feel welcome as soon as I walked in the door and you remember stuff like that.

“I really enjoyed my time here and I’m certain I can enjoy another spell here as well.”

Davis is set to miss the entirety of August with the knee injury which he picked up in a March clash with Dundee United.

But having been working on his rehab, and trying to get up to full fitness, Davis says he is on track to recovery.

He added: “I’m feeling good. I’m unrestricted now in terms of what I can do so hopefully I can just start loading it and pushing on, and hopefully I’m not too far away.

“I want to get back as soon as possible obviously, but it’s one of those things I can’t rush and I’ve got to make sure it’s 100 per cent right before I come back in.

“I’m hoping it comes sooner rather than later.

“I think the aim has to be to take the form from last season into this season and I don’t see any reason why we can’t do that with the squad that is here.”
