Closure is unbelievable

-

As a frequent visitor to Capability Scotland’s Whitehaugh centre, I was amazed to learn that Paisley, a contender for 2021 City of Culture, had no plan to prevent the closure of this facility for people with learning difficulties.

Guidance from efficient, capable staff enables the service users, our fellow citizens, to enjoy developing their abilities and achieving success in many areas which would otherwise be closed to them.

Good to see new homes (Express, August 11) being constructed at Love Street, Paisley.

This is well overdue and I hope there will be more to follow.

Having a home address is the most important part of anyone’s upbringing – without it, you have nothing to relate to.

More importantly, it helps you make plans for your or your family’s future. Colin Campbell Anchor Buildings Paisley

I have to agree with Councillor Kenny MacLaren (Express letters page, August 11) about Les Fernie ending his Walking Tours on Wheels.

I attended several of his tours and saw how good they were.

So, I would like to thank Les and his team – you made lots of people very happy.

In fact, I would like to say the very first letter I sent into the Express letters page in 2011 was in praise of Les Fernie and the Ghost Tour I attended. Kenneth McMaster Paisley
