A thug was locked up after kicking- off at his partner during a row at home.

James Docherty, 36, was arrested after launching a foul-mouthed rant at Nicola Creighton.

His behaviour turned menacing after he lost the plot and began hurling abuse at her.

The yob admitted shouting and swearing at his victim, despite being on bail for a separate offence, at Paisley Sheriff Court.

Defence lawyer Terry Gallanagh admitted his client had begun bawling, despite orders to behave.

He said: “He went round and the police were called.

“When he turned up, the female opened the window.

“He called Ms Creighton a ‘f*****g bitch’, asked ‘ where’s my f***** g money?’ and told her to ‘f**k off’.”

Docherty was released after the disturbance on May 25 and ordered to appear at court.

But he swerved the appearance when his case was called just weeks later and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The court also demanded he keep away from Ms Creighton and banned him from entering her street until proceedings had concluded.

Docherty breached his bail conditions on July 25 by visiting her Paisley home.

The court heard the pair have a daughter, 13, together and he had been asked to care for her while her mum went to work as a cleaner.

Prosecutor Frank Clarke told how police found Docherty outside the flat in the early hours of the morning and arrested him again.

Mr Gallanagh claimed his client had only breached his bail terms to look after his child.

He added: “He was invited to a friend’s house where she attended.

“Their daughter was going to be left in herself because Ms Creighton was going to work.

“Police caught him outside the back door.”

Sheriff Colin Pet t i g rew remanded Dochertyuntil he could be sentenced.

He said: “I will continue these three matters to call alongside a further review.

“The only decision for me is if you get bail between now and then. “The answer is no.” Sheriff Pettigrew ordered Docherty, of nearby Maxwellton Street, to appear again on August 28.
