Police probe attack on teen

Police in Paisley are hunting three armed thugs who burst into a family home before battering a teenager with weapons.

The terrifying attack, which left the 18- year- old needing 15 stitches, took place in Cumbrae Road, in the Glenburn area of town, on Friday night.

The youth who was targeted was at home with his mum and sister at the time when the three men, who were carrying weapons, knocked on the door.

Once it was open they forced their way in past the victim’s frightened mum, before laying into him.

His mum tried to fend the brutes off, but was overpowere­d as they battered into her boy.

He suffered three cuts to his head and another two his finger.

He was rushed to Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital where he needed 15 stitches to the wounds.

A Po l i c e S c o t l a n d spokeswoma­n last night said: “Officers were called out to a report of a serious assault in Cumbrae Road, Paisley, at around 8.30pm on Friday, August 18.

“An 18- year- old man suffered laceration­s to his head and hand and required treatment in hospital.

“Officers would like to talk to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed three men entering or leaving the address.”
