A boozed- up yob got what she wished for after begging cops to arrest her during a rammy with her partner.

Jodie Gray, 22, spent four nights in jail after screaming at officers to lift her from a Linwood street.

Gray, a full- time carer for her grandmother, got more than she bargained for though as she was arrested over a bank holiday weekend and was forced to endure an extra stint behind bars.

She pleaded guilty at Paisley Sheriff Court to acting in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting and swearing at her partner on Melrose Avenue, Linwood, on May 27.

Fiscal depute Frank Clarke told the court that Gray and her boyfriend had been out drinking when things started to go badly.

He said: “Miss Gray and her partner had been on a night out.

“It was 4.30am and they were talking on a roadway the Linwood area. An argument ensued which came to the attention of police officers who were nearby.

“A police officer came between the accused and her partner. Her partner continued walking.

“Miss Gray shouted, ‘ f***** g arrest me you f******g t**t’.

“She continued being abusive until officers had no alternative.”

The cops duly complied with her request and slapped the cuffs on her.

She was not formally cautioned and charged at the time because she was so drunk.

Her defence agent told the court that her client is a full-time carer for her gran and the incident was a result of drinking too much alcohol.

Sheriff Colin Pettigrew told her she got exactly what she asked for.

He added: “You got exactly what you wished for and, through your sheer stupidity, spent four days in custody.”

He fined Gray, of Knightswood £225 over the rammy.
