- Colette Crampsey

Londoners will get a taste of Paisley life when artist Garry Byars displays his Buddie-inspired prints at an exhibition down south.

The talented painter will rub shoulders with top artists from across the globe as he shows off his work at Parallax Fair in Chelsea.

Garry will be embarking on the exciting trip later in the year.

He said: “I’m over the moon and can’t wait to go.

“I’ll be exhibiting my artwork and selling it to visitors who will be attending from all over the world.”

Parallax is Europe’s largest independent artist and designer fair, with over 16,000 visitors and 200 independent exhibitors from around the globe attending the event in Chelsea Town Hall each year.

Garry was invited to the international exhibition, which runs from October 21 to 22, by major global communications company Saatchi and Saatchi.

The business reached out to the Paisley artist after his creative works caught their eye online.

“They told me they liked my work and that they were impressed with the history behind some of the pieces,” Garry said.

And he will be displaying some of the very works that caught their eye at the fair.

He plans to take a mix of abstract and impressionist paintings with him, as well as 27 prints which beautiully illustrate some of Paisley’s most iconic buildings and architecture.

Garry, who who runs the popular Sunshine Galleries in the Paisley Centre, said: “I’ll be selling prints of Coats Memorial Church, the Abbey, the Firehouse, the Russell Institute and more.

“I’ll also take a scenic Paisley 2021 scarf, which is a lovely silk item with various Paisley locations on it.”

“I’m looking forward to bringing a bit of Paisley to Chelsea.”
