A brute threatened to blow up his ex’s house after he discovered she had a new man.

Kenneth Hamilton, 35, threatened to torch Nicola Forsyth’s home after filling it with gas from a cooker hob ring.

He turned nasty after snooping through her email inbox and coming across a message from her lover.

Hamilton has been banned from entering her street after he admitted menacing behaviour when he appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court.

Defence lawyer Rhona Lynch said: “In the cold light of day, he accepts that his behaviour was reprehensible.”

Hamilton still spent time at the house in Paisley’s Anchor Crescent after their three- year relationship disintegrated.

He threatened Ms Forsyth, emptied out her handbag, ripped her clothing with his hands and teeth and demanded her mobile phone password when he found out she was seeing someone else.

The thug also scrawled derogatory comments about her on a mirror and damaged fittings in her home in front of her daughter, aged19.

Hamilton has been ordered to keep away from the women after sparking the ordeal on November 6.

Sheriff Tom McCartney slammed the yob and told him he faced jail if he tried to contact them in any way.

He added: “This would have been a particularly frightening and alarming incident for those who were exposed to it.”

Hamilton, formerly of Newton Terrace, Paisley, moved to Newcastleton in the Scottish Borders after the rammy.

He must now complete 200 hours of unpaid work in 12 months, pay £250 compensation, and has been placed under supervision.
