Caring ramblers give £1,000 to Accord Hospice

-

A cheque for more than £1,000 has been handed over to one of Paisley’s favourite charities.

The cash for Accord Hospice came from the charity’s corporate supporters Storage Vault, who took part in the recent Rainbow Ramble.

The fun event was held by Accord at Ferguslie Gardens, and saw 300 supporters take part in the parade that saw sponsored walkers pelted with coloured powders as they made their way through the green space over a distance of three kilometres.

An Accord spokesman said:“The funds raised from the event will allow Accord to continue to provide first-class palliative and end-of-life care in Renfrewshire, and we can’t thank everyone enough for all their efforts.

“We are proud to be supported by a local business which shows the real depth of community spirit in Renfrewshire. Thanks again for all your continued support.”

The Storage Vault team thanked everyone who sponsored it.

A spokesman said:“Thanks to your generosity we manage to raise over £1,000 for Accord Hospice.

“We had an absolute blast, firstly zumba-ing with Gemma and Sam from Moving and Giving, then rambling through Ferguslie Gardens Park with hundreds of fellow fundraisers.

“Luckily the weather was on our side and we kept our colourful complexions for the rest of the day.”
