200 runners muster for Bridge Buster

-

Running fans have snapped up all 200 places on the seventh Erskine Bridge Buster run.

Active Communities has organised the event, which was sadly cancelled last year due to roadworks.

And runners have clearly missed the 10k as all 200 spaces have been taken.

Susan McDonald, general manager of Active Communities said:“After a year’s absence we are thrilled that we are back in action for our seventh Erskine Bridge Buster run this October.

“This 10K run is for both accomplished runners looking for a challenge and those who run purely for fun, offering a mix of road and trail route, and of course including the iconic Erskine Bridge.

“All 200 places have been snapped up online via Entry Central so it promises to be a fantastic day.”

The race takes place on Saturday, October 28 at 10.30am. The race sets off from Erskine Sports Centre then heads along the scenic waterfront before entering the woods at Boden Boo. Participants then run across the landmark Erskine Bridge and back.

The race is run under UK Athletics rules and is a Scottish Athletics permit event.

There will be a post-run reception in the Erskine Sports Centre with prizes awarded to first female and first male runners, and medals awarded to all race finishers.

Active Communities is a Paisley-based charity which runs classes and events all over Renfrewshire. Their aim is to create happy, healthy and active communities.
