Mum’s the word at the Lagoon
A programme designed to help young Renfrewshire mums in the early days of parenthood is set to celebrate their success at the Lagoon Leisure Centre this afternoon.
The Family Nur s e Pa r t n e r s h i p (FNP) programme is aimed at Renfrewshire women aged 19 and under expecting their first child.
Held between 1pm and 3pm, the day will focus on fun family activities and entertainment designed to further develop the bond between parents and young children.
David Leese, Renfrewshire HSCP chief officer, will give a short keynote speech to congratulate the young women on graduating from the programme.
There will also be a celebration lunch and baby disco followed by the presentation of certificates. A photobooth will also be onsite to ensure everyone can get some memorable photos and staff will be getting important feedback from the graduates about the event and their FNP journey.
Anne Bu r n s, FNP supervisor for Renfrewshire said: “The Family Nurse Partnership works with the strengths of the mothers and encourages them to fulfil their aspirations for both their baby and themselves.
“Around 95 young mums and their children are involved in the Family Nurse Partnership in Renfrewshire and events like today’s party can play a part in a child’s development and it was good to welcome so many along.
“We wanted to celebrate all the good work these young people have accomplished over the last two years. The graduation party will be a great way to mark their progress and let them meet other families who have benefitted from the service.”
