Ryan wants Buddies to preserve great home record

- Craig Ritchie

Paisley Rugby Club are back in action this afternoon when they welcome Loch Lomond to The Anchor.

And club stalwart Ryan McCready insists that the side will be striving to build upon its unbeaten home record, which now stretches to a calendar year.

McCready played an influential role in Paisley’s thumping win over Clydebank last weekend, picking up a try in the process,

He told Express Sport : “We are looking forward to welcoming Loch Lomond to the Anchor for the first time in a couple of years.

“In previous encounters we always had a tough game against them and i don’t think much has changed.

“There is a great buzz about the club and everyone is pulling together in training, and this is really showing on the park on a Saturday.

“The coaches have done a great job in pre-season and we need to keep these run of wins going if we want to win the league.

“We are sitting top just now and nobody at the club wants to let that slip.”

Loch Lomond have recently been promoted to the BT West Division 2 and will be looking to make their mark on the league with a win over the Buddies.

But Paisley will have another win on their mind following an unbeaten run which was extended to six games last Saturday.

And with the side continuing to produce some free-flowing rugby, first team captain Ben Frost hopes his team continue to rack up the points.

He added: “Every game is a tough game in this league and we need to work hard to keep the ball rolling.

“We are sitting top of the league just now but we need to keep winning to stay there.

“Loch Lomond will be another test of our title credentials and the squad knows it won’t be an easy game.

“Make no mistake, we are going out to put a performance in, like we do every week and hopefully we get the rewards in the end.

“Loch Lomond are a good team so it’ll take everything we have to get a result.

“We’ve scored 133 points in the league so far this season, so as a fan, I’m sure you will be in for at least a try or two if you come to the game.”
