Winehouse tribute not to be missed

The highly-acclaimed Amy Winehouse Experience – also known as Lioness – is at The Bungalow tonight.

Lioness provide an authentic tribute, featuring TV’s Stars In Their Eyes finalist Emma Wright, as Amy.

She is joined by a full five-piece backing band to re-create the authentic sound of a heady mix of jazz, soul and pop.

A full stage show showcasing the talent of the fallen songstress will take the audience on a journey through the emotional rollercoas­ter of her songwritin­g, and you’ll be guaranteed to be singing and dancing along.

Without a doubt, Lioness are designed to entertain and deliver the experience of Amy at her best.

Mod icons Secret Affair are at The Bungalow tomorrow night.

Yes it’s true - the band that spearheade­d the Mod revival (along with The Jam) in 1979 are coming to Paisley.

Secret Affair formed in 1978 and over just two years they posted five releases in the UK singles chart and made three albums.

Founder members Ian Page and Dave Cairns, are now joined by Russ Baxter on drums, Ed Pearson on bass, Bryn Barklam on Hammond organ and Andy Brush on sax.

Support on the night will be The Bandits and All or Nothing DJs will be playing the after-show party.

What a weekend The Cave has in store.

Tonight from 7pm is The Kent Collective, a new project by Darren Kent, former member of 5:15 and Ordinary Affair.

He will be performing classic Mod, soul, ska and indie hits.

At 9.30pm, The Tommy Bentz Band will be playing for the first time in the town, so get get down and give them a big Paisley welcome.

Tomorrow, at 6pm, it is Shoot the Craw and, at 9pm, Swagger will be on stage.

On Sunday, from 6pm, is 2 Bob Rocket to finish off a busy weekend of live action.

Tonight at The Old Swan is The Dead Flowers, from 8pm, and tomorrow in the shoppers’ slot, from 4pm, is a double bill starting with Epic followed by Sad Ida.

On Monday The Spuds are back at 3.30pm and on Wednesday the acoustic live sessions start at 6pm.

Local band FreeSpeech are at The Anchor on Sunday from 4pm.

The band is known for its fast energetic music and for banging out classic rock and pop-punk favourites.

Finally, at Callum’s Cavern tomorrow from 7pm, is a night of fun and madness with The Sensationa­l Alex Harvey Experience, Fire Exit and Blacklist.

There are plenty upcoming open mic nights on offer.

Cat Caldwell is at The Bungalow on Sunday from 8pm, while Dunky Hunter is the host on Monday at The Abbey Bar, from 8pm.

Andy Lindsey is at The Anchor on Tuesday from 8pm, and on Wednesday, Johnny Barr takes charge at Burger and Keg from 8pm.

On Wednesday, Andy Lindsay is at The Patter Bar from 8pm, while and The Library open mic is Thursday, from 8pm.

Last, but not least is Alan McKim who will be hosting at The Afton on Thursday from 8pm.

Lots of music on in the town this week get out and support local bands and venues. Have a great time.
