Pervert banned from talking to children

Waiter whose laptop had kid rape footage dodges jail

- Ron Moore

A deviant caught with a horrific child rape recording has dodged a jail sentence.

Alex Huskinson, 32, was rumbled after selling his computer to Money Station, in Paisley’s High Street, containing video footage of a young girl, aged between 10 and 13, being sexually abused by a male adult.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard that waiter Huskinson had downloaded and watched the clip — classified as category A — the worst level of sexual abuse images.

This week, the creep appeared for sentencing after pleading guilty to charges of having indecent photographs of children in his possession at Money Station, High Street, Paisley, and to taking, or permitting to be taken, indecent photographs of children at Taychreggan Hotel, in Argyll and Bute.

His crime only came to light after he walked into the Paisley store in March 2016, where he sold his laptop for cash after providing staff with identification.

His defence agent, Miss Moultrie, said: “He has pleaded guilty to the offence. Sentence was deferred for reports, which are available, and these suggest there are issues which can be addressed within the community.

“There is a risk of re-offending if this behaviour is not addressed.

“However, reports suggest treatment programmes are available to assess and deal with this.”

Huskinson was warned he will be subject to conditions, such as mandatory supervision, attending a rehabilitation of sex offenders course, having no unsupervised conduct with children aged 16 or under, and he is banned from accessing the internet using any device that doesn’t store its history.

Sheriff Colin Pettigrew told Huskinson, who is from Lifford Road, Doncaster, that he was guilty of a very serious offence involving a young child.

He said: “Taking or permitting to be taken, indecent video of a child aged 13, at level A classification, is very serious, even though I am dealing with only one file.

“This is still part of the process of child sexual abuse as each image or video represents the serious abuse of each child depicted.”

He handed Huskinson a Community Payback Order lasting three years of supervision, in which he will perform 200 hours unpaid work within 12 months.

He was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for the duration of the order.
