Back the Buddies all the way in crucial tie

Club calls on fans to roar them to glory as they face rivals Cumnock

- Craig Ritchie

Paisley Rugby Club are gearing up for their toughest test yet in what is surely set to be a keenly-contested table-topper.

Cumnock heads to The Anchor this afternoon as both sides looking to seize the initiative in the BT West Division Two title race.

The visitors occupy the top spot in the table, having won all fives games, gaining four bonus points along the way.

Paisley, meanwhile, sit in the second spot, having played four, won four, and gained four bonus points.

It is sure to be a cracker, with both teams capable of beating anyone on their day.

Paisley will, once again, be looking for a vocal backing down at the ground build about what the side can achieve this season if they can continue their stunning form of results, starting this weekend.

Frost has called for the fans to, again, turn out in their numbers — insisting it makes a massive difference to the players pulling on the pink jerseys.

He told Express Sport: “It’s great to take on your league rivals this early in the season and especially at home.

“We have taken maximum points from every game so far and we have the drive and belief to do it again this weekend.

“Everything in training is about pushing our performance to the next level and I feel we are slowly getting there.

“I’ve missed a few weeks whilst being on holiday and the squad haven’t missed me at all — winning both games in my absence, which is great and it shows how much quality we have in the team.

“Today is just another game for us and I hope the support is massive again at Fortress Anchor, as it has been in the previous few games.

“It’s a great buzz coming onto the pitch, with all the supporters on the sideline shouting for you. All the boys love it and it’s always great to get a win for them and score some cracking trys, as we have been doing.

“We know how Cumnock are going to play and we just need to keep playing our game and the win will come.

“For us, it’s all about getting better every week and I think we are achieving the goals we are setting at the moment.”
