Building company Clark Contracts has been shortliste­d in the Employer of the Year category at this year’s ROCCO business gongs.

The awards, run by Renfrewshi­re Chamber of Commerce, take place at the Normandy Hotel, Renfrew, on Friday, November 17.

Gordon Cunningham, right, managing director of Clark Contracts, said: “As we look forward to celebratin­g our 40th year in business in 2018, we have been reflecting on the important part that our Renfrewshi­re base has played in this.”

Clark Contracts won the Training Excellence Award at the UK-wide 2017 Constructi­on News Awards in July.

The company has also been shortliste­d in the Skills Initiative of the Year category at the Building Magazine Awards, Training and Developmen­t award at Business Insiders’Scotland’s Best Employer Awards and the Excellence in Learning and Developmen­t category at the Constructi­on News, Investing in Talent awards.

Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts Ltd is a privately-owned main contractor with five operating divisions – constructi­on, fit out, small works, maintenanc­e and manufactur­ed joinery.
