Happy at the abbey

-

I wanted to write in to say how much I enjoyed the Frightened Rabbit gig on Tuesday night.

Having been a big fan of their music for many years, I was delighted when they announced they would be playing in my hometown – and even more excited when I managed to get tickets before it sold out. The boys didn’t disappoint. They played all my favourite songs and the Paisley Abbey venue made sure it was the most intimate performance of theirs that I had ever seen.

The abbey is a fantastic place to host live music of this kind. The sound was amplified through the room and the gorgeous setting made the experience even more special and enjoyable.

I hope Paisley will continue to host great artists like this, as seeing Frightened Rabbit here was a great experience, and it created a buzz around the town centre on the night.

It’s an exciting time to be a St Mirren fan right now so it was a shame to see so many priced out of the weekend’s game.

The fault isn’t that of St Mirren. But Dumbarton’s decision to hike up their prices, knowing fine well that we would take a large backing through to the game last Saturday, was disappointing to see.

Football in Scotland is expensive enough as it is without clubs taking an opportunistic approach to pricing.

But it was hilarious to see a few imaginative supporters have the last laugh however, watching the game from the top of Dumbarton Rock.

It was four pounds in and they had a few cans as well – which you can’t have at the football – so fair play to the group for being quids in at Dumbarton’s expense. Saints fan via email
