Mum traces hero who saved her wee boy

-

A mum used social media to track down a hero diner who saved her toddler from choking on a chicken nugget.

Lisa Simpson, 36, launched an online hunt for the man who helped son Logan, two, during the holiday horror.

She f o u n d Ma t t Wotherspoon through Facebook and has offered to buy him dinner as a reward.

Lisa, pictured with Logan, said: “I can’t thank him enough. If it wasn’t for his actions, my wee boy wouldn’t be here.”

Matt ran to the rescue after the lad turned blue while eating at Burger King, in Craig Tara Holiday Park, Ayrshire.

The dad slapped his back and performed abdominal thrusts to clear his airways during the ordeal.

He was helped by restaurant worker Steven Hodgeson, who also called an ambulance.

Lisa added: “They’re our heroes.

“It all happened so quickly, so I wasn’t able to really thank them in person.

“I’ve asked Burger King if there is some kind of award that Steven should get.

“He has a wee boy too and I’ve bought him an outfit to say thanks.”

Matt, of Kelso, in the Scottish Borders, had visited the restaurant after a break with his parents and children.

Lisa, of Saucel Crescent, Paisley, traced him after her search was shared across Facebook.

Letting agent Lisa, Logan and big sister Aillie, 11, and brother Dylan, 17, were getting ready to head for home when the drama sparked on October 15.
